Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul next?

“This AI boxing trainer”

Ask it who the best hvwt boxer of all time is

Forget the money, AJ should be fully aware that if he gets KO by a youtuber his boxing career would be over.

If AJ follow the basics boxing rules of confronting your opponent as your enemy it’ll be over soon.

The draw for this match is the fact that Jake Paul is fighting a real boxer in a real fight (Tommy Fury, notwithstanding). Someone who was a bonafide champion just a few years ago and still has a legit boxing career going. H

Ie. Someone who can’t be bought and won’t entertain shenanigans.

What Jake Paul is going for is legitimacy. Jake knows people will tune in to watch him get him humbled. His entire boxing “career” is suspect at best and his last fight with Tyson left a bad taste and made people question his legitimacy even more, as if there was any to begin with.

Make no mistake, the way he’s been going hard at Ngannou recently in contrast with being respectful to Joshua should show everyone where this whole charade is going. Jake is going in their to last 2 full rounds. This is his Rocky moment.

if that is in fact his plan, then the charade is over and paul is headed onto other things…

this is what makes it interesting…

a legit fighter with legit accolades who is past his sell by date but still trying to make a “comeback” will not throw it…

a legit fighter with legit accolades who is past his sell by date trying to get one last big payday might be inclined to carry someone… this is no doubt the most money he can make in one night anywhere…

hasn’t been in the ring in well over a year… short notice date… has to make a weight…

tank was a gimmick fight…

this is no gimmick for paul, but, could conceivably be a gimmick for joshua…

it is all very interesting…

Which guy? Also isn’t this at HW?

joshua hasn’t fought since getting outclassed last summer, yes?

joshua has to weigh in at 245… that is for a reason…

and by last summer i mean summer of 2024…

I didn’t know there was a 245 clause but AJ trainer was saying that he was already in training for a bout. I don’t think he was way out of shape.

no clue if he is or not…

but, making that weight is not there just because…

If he was in shape it isn’t a huge issue.

if someone has never had to make a weight before it will most definitely be an issue…

Not nearly enough of one to affect the way the fight goes.

This fight is ludicrous and once again, were all talking about it, and were ALL gonna watch it

I’ve never seen any of his fights on the night of. Won’t start with this one.

Enough people are though

Hes winning

He always wins on that front. Every time.

There’s a weight limit. I’m not sure if it’s just at weigh-in or on fight night as well, but I know there’s a clause and that it’s maybe 15 pounds lighter than AJ’s last weigh-in.

has joshua ever had to make a weight?

the weight limit is there for a specific reason…

it will most definitely have an affect on joshua’s performance…

how much remains to be seen…

just weigh in…

no re-hydration clause…

He was barely over 250 in his last fight. It will be a non issue. It will help sell the fight to make people think he has a chance.

Thanks. That might be significant, though I don’t know whether AJ previously cut water weight to weigh in. It seems unlikely to me, so this might be really easy for him to make.
