Apparently poker player Dan Jungleman Cates thought he could box

I guess this happened a few months ago…

Went about how you’d expect, starts at the 4:25 mark of the video

Guess his opponent called his bluff.

Before the bell: this is bad.

Walking from the corner: Oh no…

Punches thrown: His training team took his money and set him up for a homicide.

His YouTube channel is hilariously cringe

It Was bad enough his trainers let him out there

Worse that nobody was yelling at him to defend himself when the ref separated then told them to fight

The other guy was going incredibly easy on him. That was sparring/smoker level and he was NOT ready.

Something I picked up in training stone-cold beginners to instinctively keep their guards up is to get into the habit of touching their face/chin with their thumbs when their hands are up. If they can do that while moving and training their hands are up.

It’s creating a “bad” habit to correct a worse one.

I saw a video not too long ago where he got kicked out of the Hustler Live game for throwing his cards at the dealer.

Maybe he could box the dealer next

Hey I was just watching some 300/600 game on Poker go.

Wasserman and Robl bet 50k dark and then just checked it down to see the winner.

Is this real money or do they all have deals and just do it for show?

Probably just doing a “flip” like a coin flip where they just agree to gamble for a set amount just for the sake of it. I’ve probably done it 3 times in 20 years.

My favorite part was temu smack my bitch up background music.

I saw that video.

In Jungleman’s defense, I don’t think he meant to hit the dealer with the cards.

And he immediately tipped him $200.

But they still tossed him.

Rules are rules.

And dealer abuse isn’t allowed.

I used to be a poker floor man which is the poker supervisor like a pit boss, you have to kick Jungle out for at least a day to set a precedence and a warning to the other players to reel it in

A little off topic but apparently Sammy Farha is one of the biggest pricks to deal with.

Constantly blaming dealers for bad cards and acting like an asshole.

Pretty sure he got into a fist fight with a dealer one time.

I like Cates. Doesn’t take himself.too seriously and often wears goofy outfits. Durrrr I think still owes him a ton of money. .

Slight side note. They brought back the Heads up championship. I went to Caesars every year for it. Was a great mix of players and celebrities. It will be on pokergo soon I read.

“I still kinda want a rematch but we may need to move the line a little bit” lol somebody needs to tell this guy that there is no line that would be fair. walking towards your opponent and occasionally sticking your arms out isn’t fighting.

How much did the loser have to pay the winner?

Ok. Watched it. I challenge that he ever stepped foot in a boxing gym. He had zero concept of footwork, head movement or throwing a punch.

The ending was interesting. Because cates was so clueless, he looked away from his opponent which caused him to get smashed. The opponent saw an opening and pounced. Fair enough and 200% legal, but maybe not the nicest of things to do. Not saying i wouldn’t do the same thing if money was on the line.

What almost made it really interesting was a dude jumped in and took a haymaker at the opponent. Imagine the world where he connects and ko s or worse the opponent.

If bored, watch Alvarado v Olivier Busquiet(sp?)
