He is a lot smaller than he looks on TV. A big guy obviously, but nowhere near as big as you’d think. Impressive what he did at heavyweight. For reference. I’m 5’8” around 150 lbs here.

Yeah.
He was also a very talented striker. He had very good technique, when he wanted to use it. He was also a solid wrestler. Pretty well rounded for a heavyweight. Goes back to my earlier post saying he should have been a champ.

This match confused me!
I was lead to believe both Nog brothers had extensive boxing expeience prior to bjj/mma.
I know he was older at this point in terms of mma mileage, but he must had know big country was gonna look to land that big overhand?!

The hillarious part of this video and his comedy act all together is you know rogan was watching his act and giving him tips. Only for him to fucking suck.

Punch was partially blocked and still hammered him.
Nog was about half the speed he used to have and his chin was about 40% of what it was. He could have eaten that punch or likely dodged it in Pride. There used to be a gif showing how much slower he moved on the ground in the UFC. It’s crazy he was even still fighting and even crazier he won an interim belt.

IIRC Big Nog didn’t have a boxing background. Little Nog did and was a Brazilian National Champion. Which makes it even crazier that Sokoudjou knocked him out lol
Big Nogs striking was very rudimentary up until around the time he lost to Fedor the first time. Then it rapidly improved leading to their second and third fights. In the UFC he had decent striking but was old as shit.
