Who won that fight?!
One of the most physically deceptive fighters out there. I saw him at a UFC expo standing next to Forrest Griffin. Forrest was several inches taller and wide as an ox, way more physically imposing and he was a LHW. Big Country had a chin until he didn’t, he reminds me of Mark Hunt.

Roy won by TKO. CroCop won the rematch in Bellator in 2019 before retiring.

Roy did have crazy cardio for his size. I remember when he went 5rds with Josh Barnett in a fight he lost Barnett jokingly told him “Fuck you for making me have to go all 5 rounds.”

Here’s a cool little story.
I met Roy Nelson at a local gym where he was doing a meet & greet. He was a nice dude and spent a few extra minutes with me when he didn’t have to.
We talked about how he’d been doing since going to Bellator. Recently he had been scheduled to fight Cro Cop (in Bellator), but Cro Cop pulled out. Hoy speculated Mirko was on steroids, I agreed, with all hespect to Cro Cop.
I asked him if he thought they would end up fighting, he said he had no idea.
This was around mid 2018.

Roy got right-hand crazy the last couple of years. All he did was throw it over and over. That was always his biggest weapon but he just became totally predictable with it. Crazy thing is he was a very talented grappler.
