At what point is enough enough? The guy was an absolute menace and needed to be handled by someone so he quit terrorizing people. Iā€™m glad this guy was able to effectively subdue him. I think he would have been justified in using a higher level of force (punches, joint locks or a choke) based on the guyā€™s behavior.

Had a brown belt get me in a variation of that position and hold me while he carried on a conversation with a coach during a seminar once and it became my go to for anything that wasnā€™t serious or warranted an ā€œembarrassingā€ hold after that. I donā€™t know how to explain the difference probably, but when they put their arm(s) straight to push you off your lean forward hard and use your body to pin them on the ground then pull one or the other around their neck and hold the wrist under their head. The other arm is then pinned under your shin and you can just sit there regardless of how much they kick or squirm. An added trick (which the brown belt also did) was to fake punch the person repeatedly in the face to demonstrate how helpless they would be if you were pissed enough to fuck them up.

Many times guys donā€™t learn from being choked out, they just feel embarrassed and want to go again.

You need to give them a few hard shots or make them leave with a limp.
