Just curious, do you think brock could beat fedor, or he had the better career? I’ve been told brock was better because he was in the UFC, then I had that person list brocks wins and he changed his argument to prime years and them fighting.

I don’t hate brock but he had less than 10 fights compared to fedors 40+, id take fedor in their respective primes. Granted brocks prime was still fairly green, other than killing frank mir brock didn’t do much, beat an aged out Randy, beat up an eye poked herring and beat a gassed out carwin. His size+speed made his wrestling tough but younger smaller guys like Cain made him look bad. Overeem made him look bad.

Now fedor definitely fell off in strikeforce and continued a steady decline after but pre 2008 fedor was unbelievable. I just watched both of their highlights, guess which one was over 30 minutes.

Not knocking brock but he would be lucky to be in the top 10 hw’s of all time, fedor will forever be in the goat hw conversation. Now brock with zero pro wrestling years and training everything right out of college is a whole different conversation.

We all know Rickson was scared since he was too pussy to fight anyone real

Fedor vs Arlovski (Jan) and Rodgers (Nov) was in 2009. Brock fought Mir at UFC 100 (July) between those 2 fights. That is where Fedor chose to fight instead of UFC. If he went to the UFC instead, he’d have fought Brock. So those are the 2 versions that could’ve realistically fought.

Fedor was getting worked by Andrei before he one punched him and Rodgers was never anything special. Brock could’ve raped Frank Mir that night at UFC 100 and I’m not sure anyone could’ve stopped it.

Fedor was overall better but if they ever realistically fought in that time frame, I’m betting on Brock.

I loved watching Brock absolutely demolish Mir in their second fight. Mir was extremely arrogant back then. That was prime Frate Train Lesnar

Rewatch that Andre fight, he was barely landing anything, mostly glancing blows, his biggest shot was a push kick. The punch that ended that fight 100% knocks brock down if not out and we have seen Brock turtle in all of his fights but his first 2 and maybe hunt who fedor finished. Brock respected Randy’s hands and it went into rnd 2, fedor was twice as fast then and still hit hard as hell, the first time brock got hit with fedors hands he turns into the brock that fought cain or overeem. I obviously let the fact that Brock is on something out because over half of fedors opponents were.

Size matters to a point but mostly when it intimidates the opponent, fedor doesn’t get intimidated and was good at avoiding scrambling until he grabs an arm, neck or just goes for the chin.

Fedors worst loss was to juiced to the jaw bigfoot, he was extra sauced up. Brocks looks like he is scared when he loses, fedor looks like a fighter until it’s over win or lose.

Brock was a beast of a man and pretty good wrestler but he was not a fighter. You could tell that he was not really into mma .. he was great for the sport though and very fun to watch

Mir used to be the UFC pretty boy back then and almost everyone wanted him to be champ again because of the motorcycle accident. Brock beating the shit out of him twice as an amateur really pissed people up.

I was a newbie back then i loved it.

Same with Cain.

In Brock’s defense l, those MF hit hard as fuck.

The biggest difference between Brock and Fedor is at heavyweight there is essentially almost no one with such a long prime. Most guys are at the top for a couple fights and that’s Brock and you can find 15-20 other guys who have a career at the level of brock. Fedor is the only one who sustained at the top that long really. There’s a couple others maybe that aren’t quite at level Fedor sustained at but still did for a long time against lesser or smaller guys, they’re above brock too but main point is brocks prime is comparable to a couple dozen guys.

One of my favourite beatdowns

It’s interesting. I’ve studied emotional intelligence for over 15 years now, and my Dissertation work focused on elite athletes and their level of EI. Even back then, managing fear was something many of them would talk about conversationally, but when completing surveys and such, they’d almost all downplay it. I believe that athletes almost all experience it, but we- especially men- have been conditioned not to talk about it as if uttering the words somehow gave that fear strength.

Never avenged his loss to Hendricks though

The massive balls it took to just walk away from WWE, make it to final cuts in the NFL with no experience, and then foray into being the biggest draw in MMA to that point. He was such a badass that Vince McMahon fawned over him and basically paid him whatever he wanted to wrestle whenever he wanted, so he could spend time with his kids.

Brock looked the most scared in the cage out of anyone I’ve seen fight at that level.

No he didn’t, not even close.
This is just one example.
