Like father, like son … even if dad had no idea.
Callum Bisping — son of former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight king and Hall of Famer Michael Bisping — quietly made his amateur mixed martial arts (MMA) debut last weekend (Sat., Dec. 6, 2025) at SSP 68 inside Commerce Casino in Commerce, California. And he won. Handily. All without telling his dad a thing.
Competing as a Heavyweight (238 lbs), Callum took on Chayton Acevedo and, based on the fight footage circulating online, dominated from start to finish. The former collegiate wrestler repeatedly grounded Acevedo with well-timed takedowns, controlled position, dropped ground strikes, and even threatened a rear-naked choke on his way to a unanimous decision victory.
Despite trying to slip under the radar, word eventually found its way back to “The Count,” who reacted to the surprise on his Believe You Me podcast — and it was classic Bisping.
“So he had a fight on Saturday night. Didn’t tell me about it, I didn’t know, and again, I respect it because he wanted to do it under the radar,” Bisping said. “He didn’t wanna make a big deal about it, he just wanted to show up with his coach, have the fight, and come back.”
But the way he found out? Even better.
“Friday morning, me and my wife go out for breakfast … and there’s Callum with his girlfriend and his girlfriend’s mom,” Bisping continued. “His girlfriend’s mom asks, ‘Are you guys going to the fight?’ And I wanted to play along so I didn’t look like a fool. He hadn’t told us. She’s talking about his walkout music and everything and I’m like, ‘You’ve picked walkout music? You’re having a fight? You haven’t even told me.’ It was so embarrassing — I was fuming.”
Callum retired from wrestling back in 2023 after competing for San Francisco State University, leading many to wonder whether he’d eventually follow his father into MMA. Now we have the answer — and he’s 1-0.
There could possibly be a card in the future with Anderson Silva, Bisping, Vitor and Cro Cop’s sons.

Callum Bisping moved to 2-0 as an amateur MMA fighter at a Regime Fight League event in Westlake Village, California.
The 24-year-old squared off against Brycen MacLeod, who entered their clash with a 2-0 record.
Bisping competed in wrestling at the NCAA Division 2 level during his days at San Francisco State University.
