The skill level increased in MMA but the excitement has faded. We get a banger with Hokit and Blaydes that was pure entertainment and very little skill or “intelligence” involved.

You can pretend watching a “p4p weight class GOAT” wrestle jabbing his way to a decision is “high level” and I’ll take the dudes who fight with heart any day.

Hokit > GSP

So, where do people like me fit in? I can thoroughly enjoy a ridiculously violent slobberknocker like last night’s Hokit-Blaydes brawl while also enjoying a technician ply his craft like Pico did over Pitbull.
There are many facets to MMA & they’re all good IMO.

My point is, nobody is watching GSP hold someone down and doing minimal damage while screaming their heads off with their friends. Or on the edge of their seats waiting to see what’s gonna happen next.

GSP rarely had a sub-500,000 buy rate, establishing him as a top-two draw during his peak, often drawing huge numbers, especially in his home country, according to MMATorch

Yeah, I’m really concerned about the buy rates over here when I’m looking to be entertained

Well you said nobody is watching GSP. Just wanted to correct you

@Barry_BondsMVP73 don’t miss quote me.

I agree with what you’re generally saying that exciting fights are generally better than point fighting.

Call me crazy but I never minded seeing GSP take opponents down, elbows and punches to the face, always looking to improve position.

GSP’s 3.5 sig strikes/minute > Clay Guida’s 7.1

I like most fights other than Reyes vs Walker shitshows.

My issue is there are WAY too many fighters. Takes away from the excitement when I have no idea who anyone is.
