The list of names Do Bronx has fought is insane.
Kind of a weird matchup.
I would have expected Oliveira vs. Max or Paddy. Or even Hooker. Someone who, if they beat Oliveira, would be on the shortlist for a title shot. If he loses to Fiziev it basically kills his career.
I feel like this is the UFC giving him an easy fight.
It’s not a great stylistic fight for him. Great striking + very good TDD. I can see him losing at home.
I didn’t view Fiziev as an easy fight personally. But I would prefer to see Olivera against someone like Gaethje.
I feel like Charles strangles him, unless he’s truly done.

At this point nothing is a good stylistic matchup for him inside the top 10 other than Beniel Dariush who he already blew past a while back.
It’s what happens when your chin is compromised.
I don’t think he’ll ever gameplan accordingly or adapt his style like an Overeem. He’s not that type of fighter, imo.
This could very well be a test fight for Charles to see if he’s still going to be relevant going forward.
It’s a fight that can still keep him in the mix if he wins instead of potentially going on a run of losses with higher ranked guys than Fiziev.
Charles is on the way out. He’s past that random surge he had, it lasted longer, but others that had this out of nowhere surge into the spotlight and then slowly fell off a cliff. RDA, and even Garbrandt, although he was undefeated when he fell off, he jumped into the spotlight out of nowhere, fell off and never got back to the top.
Bisping got choked out by GSP on Nov 4 then on Nov 25 he got KO’d by Kevin Gastelum. What’s that like 21 days apart?
And how long was he laid off after that KO? I could have sworn there was a 6 month suspension for someone that got knocked out.
