Chechen MMA fighter Jihad Yunusov (19-7) beats up an elderly woman with his hands and a door

An Akhmat fighter beat an elderly woman in Grozny.

MMA fighter Jihad Yunusov first poured a hot drink in the woman’s face and then beat her with his hands and a door.

Reportedly, the woman recently installed a camera in her apartment building. Yunusov demanded that it be removed. In a state of shock, likely after consuming illegal substances, he attacked the elderly woman in front of her daughter.

If he was on Kadyrov’s good side, that seems unlikely. But if he falls from grace with that, then who knows

The Chechen Fight Club “Akhmat” has expelled mixed martial artist Jihad Yunusov after he assaulted an elderly woman in a building entrance.

"Due to unacceptable behavior that is inconsistent with the moral, spiritual, and ethical standards upheld by the Republican Fight Club “Akhmat,” by decision of Akhmat Kadyrov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic and Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Chechen Republic, mixed martial artist Jihad Yunusov has been expelled from the club.

We cannot allow the behavior of our fighters to undermine the reputation of the club they represent, as well as the Chechen people and our republic as a whole. For the Chechen people, caring and respecting the older generation, especially women, have always been and remain a priority. Our people are renowned for their upbringing, adherence to spiritual and ethical norms, and respect for national traditions and customs. Such behavior will never be tolerated and will be stopped, both in the past and in the future.

We call on all athletes and representatives of our republic to recognize their responsibility for their actions. Each of us is the face of the Chechen Republic, and our behavior affects not only our personal reputation but also the image of the entire nation," the press release stated.

That’s a good official statement. Hopefully he also got an unofficial beating on the way out.

Former Akhmat fighter Jihad Yunusov, who recently assaulted an elderly woman in Grozny, signed a contract and left for the Special Military Operation.

He claimed he always beat up informers and rats, but “one incident was caught on camera.”

There is an important update to this story. Jihad Yunusov is now 20-7.
