Khamzat Chimaev is staying busy to close out the year.
ALF League announced Sunday that the former UFC middleweight champion is set to face MMA veteran Jorge Masvidal in a submission only grappling match that headlines the league’s inaugural event on Dec. 4 at The Agenda in Dubai.
See the announcement below.
This will be Chimaev’s sixth non-MMA outing since dropping the middleweight title to Sean Strickland at UFC 328 this past May. Chimaev has wrestled four times for RAF, defeating former UFC champions Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley, longtime welterweight contender Gilbert Burns, as well as Dillon Danis. He is scheduled to step onto the RAF mat against Colby Covington in the main event of RAF Abu Dhabi on Nov. 14.
Masvidal has also kept an active presence following his most recent UFC appearance in 2023. “Gamebred” lost a decision to Nate Diaz in a boxing match in July 2024, and has frequently teased a return to the octagon.
