Can Gane win? Of course! But LOL @ thinking Alex has never seen someone like him. 99% chance this will be a stand up striking battle. Pereira has been a double champ in kickboxing. He’s dealt with lighter and thus faster guys. I’m NOT saying he beats Gane for sure, but WTF some of you thinking Alex has never seen the like of an athletic moving kickboxer in front of him!

Im always civil unless provoked lol. No Alex isn’t a black belt but has been training a lot of BJJ from the time he moved to MMA. Having Glover with him I’m sure he’s very competent by now. He has been taken down but i don’t remember, did he get stuck on his back against Jan?
I think Francis is a white belt but had enough wrestling chops to take Cyril down. Cyril’s wrestling sucks, his BJJ is good enough to get opportunistic subs on subpar opponents, but I would bet that Alex’s positional BJJ is superior to both of them combined.
Edit: I just checked Wikipedia and it has him listed as a black belt under Plinio Cruz. What does everyone think about that? Alex is an amazing athlete and if he started back in 2015 when he first went into MMA it’s definitely possible. I just haven’t seen enough of it and don’t know enough about Plinio to say it’s legit or not. Some instructors give them out like candy.

He also beat Adesanya 3 times, who is more technical and fleet of foot, and Alex was draining himself to make that weight.
I love to watch Cyril fight but he leaves a lot of openings. He needs to be careful because Alex will time his entries.

Alex does train with heavyweights, and he won’t be drained cutting all that weight. But yes Cyril hits hard and we’ve seen him turn up his intensity when he feels it’s time, he could absolutely knock Alex out.

Gane also has a fighting style that depends on being out of range when somebody is trying to counter him. Alex stands upright and stalks so he’s right in front of his opponent. He gets hit some but also has great reactions and head movement, doesn’t waste energy, doesn’t get hit clean a lot.
This is the kind of style contrast that gives me a boner
Gane gets shit on for his lack of grappling, but he is teh same height as Alex but a naturally bigger frame. Who also favors striking! Nowt all to stop Gane planting and pressuring.
