“The Notorious” is going under the knife.

It has been just over three weeks since former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) two-division champion Conor McGregor finally returned to competition against Max Holloway at UFC 329, highly-anticipated comeback lasted just 69 seconds.

McGregor injured his knee in “Sin City” and was unable to continue, bringing his long-awaited return to a brutal and disappointing end (watch it).

It was later revealed that McGregor tore his ACL and meniscus at UFC 329, putting him on the shelf for roughly one year and requiring surgery.

Well, McGregor announced today (Mon., Aug. 3, 2026) that he is officially headed under the knife.

“What’s up folks, it’s ‘The Mac.’ Off to get surgery today,” McGregor wrote on social media. “Wish me well. I’m going to fuel up with a Mac Energy. Let’s go. We got this.”

McGregor added in his Instagram caption that this will be the fifth surgery of his career.

Master click baiter.

McGregor has one fight left on his current UFC contract, meaning if he does not re-sign with the promotion before his next appearance, he could become a free agent for the first time in his legendary combat sports career.

The former double champion also announced last week that his next UFC fight will be his “Last Dance,” leading many to speculate that retirement could be on the table.

But c’mon.

We have seen a billion MMA retirements before, and most of them do not last.

For now, McGregor has far more important things to worry about than comeback timelines, free agency or one final walk to the Octagon.

First, he has to get through surgery, then the long road back.

They should cut his dick off if he truly wants to improve fight performance.

Conor is a great salesman. He should have gotten into the crypto market and minted a Mcgreggor coin. He could have made 10s of millions

He made 10s of millions in under a minute a few weeks ago.

The injuries are creeping up the legs.
I assume it’ll be a hip next.

Can’t wait to see what he comes up with to top starting the first fight in 5 years with a jumping switch kick that blows out the ACL.
