Sounds like Jake Paul might be able to skip college and go right to the NFL.
The celebrity boxer is considering a jump to the gridiron after getting his ass handed to him by Anthony Joshua in boxing. While the idea of Paul playing for a pro football team sounds ludicrous, āEl Galloā claims he already has a handful of top coaches interested in making a deal.
I hope we get names/teams so I know who to bet against.
āI have a couple teams and coaches that Iāve already talked to who are interested in bringing me on to the team,ā Paul told Front Office Sports at Fanatics Fest in New York City. āI think thereās a lot of super-mediocrity in the NFL, a lot of not-good athletes, a lot of people dropping passes on a consistent basis. I have better hands than them, Iām faster than them, Iām stronger than them, I work harder than them.ā
Better athletes than Paul have tried and failed.
To be fair, NFL players havenāt had much luck in MMA, either. Greg Hardy tried to make waves in the UFC heavyweight division but instead got washed out to sea after a series of knockout losses. Herschel Walker doesnāt count because he fought a couple of homeless guys in Strikeforce.
Perhaps Paul, 29, might make a nice addition to the lowly Miami Dolphins or Cleveland Browns.
Iāll take āthings that never happenedā for $1,000 Alex
If anyone can do it itās Jake Paul.
Teams want to sign him just so his girlfriend can hang around the premises.
