Dana White has always been âcoolâ with gay fighters who compete in UFC.
That said, donât expect the promotion to host any âPride Nightâ events, like the one that caused an avalanche of controversy for baseballâs San Francisco Giants.
White prefers to stay in his own lane and let everyone do their own thing.
âIâm staring at my roster of Top 15 fighters, Iâm assuming we have some gay fighters,â White told Tomi Lahren. âI donât know how many of them are openly. I know that we have gay female fighters. I donât give a shit. I donât care what you are or who you are or what you do, we donât talk about that or any of that stuff. We have a T-shirt that says âWe Are All Fighters,â and itâs got the gay flag colors on it, but I donât know, everybody do your own thing. Iâm just not into it. Iâm in the fight business, so itâs a little different than baseball is like Americaâs game. I stay in my lane, whatever all these other guys are doing, good luck to you. I do my own thing.â
White also used the interview to reiterate his disgust for the public personas of Josh Hokit and Sean Strickland, who make it a habit of using Whiteâs âfree speechâ policy to make spectacles of themselves. I guess White doesnât remember the time he said Cris Cyborg looked like Wanderlei Silva in a dress.
âThatâs why we started UFC BJJâ
Saved you a click.
He also didnât seem to mind when Joe Rogan accused Cyborg of having a dick.
âWe donate lots of money to lots of different charities and I do personally, too,â White said. âYou know what youâll never see me doing? Standing out in the middle of somewhere with a big check with a bunch of little kids standing around. We do it because we should, we do it because we can, we donât do it for attention and we donât do it for any other reason other than we should. Whether itâs the gay and lesbian community, whether itâs the African American community, we do what we should do. We do the right thing, and as long as youâre doing the right thing, you donât have to run around and prove to everybody that youâre doing the right thing.â
UFC always does the right thing, you just have to hold them at gunpoint.
âSean Strickland, weâre sitting up on the thing at the dais on a press conference and he starts going off that nobody wants to see Raquel Pennington - who I love, whoâs one of my favorite people on Earth. Sheâs one of the sweetest people ever - and he starts talking shit about her. But they donât care. Theyâre powerful strong women, they do their thing, theyâre like, âWe donât give a shit what Sean Strickland says.â We have to deal with some of it. Iâm in the fight business, so itâs a little different than baseball is like Americaâs game. I stay in my lane, whatever all these other guys are doing, good luck to you. I do my own thing.â
When asked if he felt other organizations participating in Pride Nights or other themed events was performative or opportunistic, White agreed that could be a factor in the decisions made by sports leagues. He then boasted that he and the UFC are frequently involved in charitable work without having to make a show of it.
âFirst of all, we donate lots of money to lots of different charities and I do personally, too,â White said. âYou know what youâll never see me doing? Standing out in the middle of somewhere with a big check with a bunch of little kids standing around. We do it because we should, we do it because we can, we donât do it for attention and we donât do it for any other reason other than we should.
âWhen it comes to certain groups of people, whether itâs the gay and lesbian community, whether itâs the African American community, whether itâs this community, we do what we should do. We do the right thing, and as long as youâre doing the right thing, you donât have to run around and prove to everybody that youâre doing the right thing.â
Dammit OP, I was going to make this thread with the title âDana has no pride!â

A smart fighter would come out and be the biggest star everâŚ
If its got talent
Well handled by Dana. Iâm fucking sick of these âgot yaâ questions.
What do you think of gay fighters? What kind of shit is that. Such a set up.
I hate them: UFC on full media cancel mode
Iâm all for it: Part of the base is âdisgustedâ by Dana. Weâre looking at you Bud Light
Only right answer is, Iâm in the fight game. Well played.

There have been two male champs that were gay:
Renan Barao
Israel Adesanya
And one ring announcerâŚ
i thought he just liked jackets. what a fool iâve been.
Fixed
Every June the UFC should put on a Pride style event at like ATT stadium
