Itâs been an interesting week for UFC Middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis.
The South African roost-ruler has been catching lots of strays this weekend courtesy of his fellow Middleweights after rumors spread of an injury derailing his hotly anticipated title defense opposite surging Khamzat Chimaev. âBorzâ immediately barked at Du Plessis despite his own complicated history of withdrawals, and another rising star in Caio Borralho took the opportunity to claim Du Plessis broke his shin and would be benched for months!
On Thursday, âStillknocksâ cleared the air himself, announcing that he was healthy and still waiting for a date to face off with Chimaev. His head coach, Morne Visser, has helpfully expanded upon that sentiment, offering a bit of insight into the timeline for the Khamzat clash.
âWe never signed a contract, the fight was never confirmed,â Visser explained to Submission Radio. âNo injuries man, thatâs bullsât. Weâre fighting Khamzat. Weâre actually waiting for the contract, so itâs gonna be soon. Definitely not gonna be International Fight Week, theyâve got something else planned for that. Iâm sure everybody knows about what theyâve got planned. [Thatâs] also not 100% confirmed, but weâre fighting Khamzat, waiting for the contract, itâs a done deal.â
As of right now, thereâs no confirmed information about the rest of UFCâs pay-per-view (PPV) schedule in the summer, but it sounds like Du Plessis is still aiming for a return around that period. In addition, Visserâs comments given further credence to the idea that Ilia Topuriaâs two-title gamble will pay off at UFC 317.
Hazmat is very dangerous for the first round or two. He will shoot like a bat out of hell and keep reshooting till he gets a takedown, unfortunately this is enough to beat most people. Hopefully ddp can fight off the takedown for a round or two.
I dislike Hazmat but he is an exciting fighter. Hopefully he gets his shit together and can fight more often
LOLZ
Hazmat is on the terrorist no fly list, so he can only fight in a few countries.
I thought he moved to another country to help on this

Yeah, you are right.

Does Khamzat have UAE citizenship?
UFC star Khamzat Chimaev is now officially a UAE citizen! This move not only gives him more career opportunities but also places him among a growing list of global talents granted Emirati nationality. Investors, scientists, creatives, and specialistsâmany are securing UAE citizenship.9 mrt 2025
Canât wait for the MW Title to be defended once a year. I know Khamzat is a beast, but why give such an inactive fighter a title shot?
Will be a good fight but I donât think DDP can stop Khamzat from doing what he wants. I hope Iâm wrong.
They should force hazmat to fight more or strip him. If he misses weight he gets stripped, fuck that terrorist
