Tim Means was arrested on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, following a physical altercation with his 17-year-old daughter at his home in Tijeras, New Mexico.

According to the criminal complaint and reports from the Albuquerque Journal, the confrontation began as an argument over household chores. Means allegedly head-butted his daughter, causing her nose to bleed, and punched her with a closed fist on the side of her face. She claimed he grabbed her by the throat in a strangulating manner and held her against a kitchen counter. The complaint states Means also threw a potato at the teenager during the encounter.

Means faces one felony count of child abuse. He was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center and released on Friday, April 24, 2026, on his own recognizance. Means admitted to having an argument but claimed he only used physical force to restrain his daughter from hitting him.

At the time of the arrest, Means was serving as the head wrestling coach at Moriarty High School. The school district noted he was not currently working as it was the off-season and declined to comment on his future employment status

Really hoping he’s not guilty of what he’s accused of.

UFC veteran Tim Means was arrested and charged with child abuse in New Mexico on Wednesday, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

According to the police report, police were called to Means’ residence on Monday, Apr. 21. His 17-year-old daughter is reported to have made the call, after he allegedly head-butted and punched her during an argument about chores. She also alleges that grabbed her throat in a “strangulating manner.”

Sounds like a spar gone wrong. The cops can’t handle his MMA fighter lifestyle.

He should be forced to go five rounds two weight classes up

That’s one dirty bird
