DJ Retired Champ

Great. I sure do wish there was an MMA HOF instead of a UFC HOF. Lots of guys never fought in the UFC or got on Dana’s black list that undermine the credibility of the hof by their exclusion.

This is true.

DJ should never be considered an ATG because the 125lb division is so weak. I would place cejudo over him at this point since cejudo went up in weight and won another title.

  • he is missing a lot of hof fighters on his record
  • He didn’t move up when he kept fighting the same guys over and over again
  • His fights were pretty boring for most of his career
  • Aside from cejudo, he never really fought anyone noteworthy

Really? Fighting Rodtang under Muay Thai rules in the mixed rules bout was even more impressive than Wanderlei doing it against a prime Cro Cop imo and that was fucking impressive.

MM beat an atg in Muay Thai and kickboxing and an Olympic Gold medal wrestler and future world champion CCC. He won world titles in the two biggest organizations in his era.

He didn’t beat rodtang in MT.

He beat him in mma rules in the 2nd round by rnc.

He really has a weak resume other than fighting no-stand up version of cejudo.

Compare that to the opponents of Fedor, Jon jones and GSP.

It’s really not an argument.

Amanda Numes beat more hof candidates than Mighty Mouse.

He was gifted a decision against Miguel Torres.

Did the typical take a guy down, do nothing, land a few strikes on the feet and run around because you might be ahead on the card thing.

Good fighter, nowhere near anything on the ATG list

Yup. It’s more about the division than him for me. It’s always been garbage and still is to this day.

He does have one of the most awesome finishes of all time though

GSP and Jones never went to a B league and got beat up by bums

This automatically makes them superior to the others listed

This. People get pissy when you post this, but it’s true. I think he fights better under the One rule set, so maybe that’s what was missing the whole time
