Bustamante was way ahead of his time
I legitimately hate dope fiends, soooo
Carlson was waaay ahead of his time. He got it
He’s a classless faggot. Ignore his ass Señor Apple.
Nobody would give two shits about him in this community if he wasn’t some guy’s son. Dude acted like an arrogant entitled criminal thug his entire short life. He’d be another loser wastoid to people here bringing the whole of society down like every junkie if he was anyone else.
Maybe rickson’s kids turned out that way because of all the black ancestry. 90% of them are trash according to this forum, so it tracks.
And self.defense gurus still insist pulled guard on someone stronger that you is a solid move
The web shows he has no drug or criminal record. What specifically are you talking about
The general public doesn’t understand this. All these guys have high level BJJ, if for no other reason that they had to learn it to shut down other fighter’s BJJ. People wonder if you should learn BJJ or wrestling or striking. Reality is that at a bare minimum, you need to be good at all three, or you shouldn’t be in the octagon.
I don’t even want to know. I watched Ben Askren’s pad work before his celebrity boxing match. It looked like that thing from The Simpsons where the boxing glove hits the pad with the fly on it, and the fly survives the punch.
I didn’t know Kron was 37. He’s going to get his act together quickly if he wants to be taken seriously by the UFC again.

That’s understandable. But the average MMA fighter is a well rounded jack of all trades. Kron’s entire life has been about being the very best from the guard and he ends up getting knocked out in the guard. Something that most novice MMA fighters are able to avoid. It’s as bad as when Cro Cop got head kicked and decapitated by a BJJ guy.

It looks like Rickson training in Choke. Evolve bro
I know it’s just practicing on a heavy bag but dude looks so damn stiff like he has a rod in his back or something.
I have a theory that Kron had some sort of mental breakdown. He didn’t want to be in there, he also started to have a self destructive attitude off the mat towards the end of his BJJ competition career too. Almost like he wanted to derail himself.
His style of BJJ was very well suited to transition to MMA. Good clinch based takedowns and didn’t lose dominant positions. Very good sweep and get to his feet guard.
I’ve watched him compete since he was a little kid and he always had a never quit attitude and toughness that was unique. He quit that day. Really out of character
BurnOut and the Heavy TOLL of the Name he carried and living up to it. That would be TUFF for any mortal, especially when Stubborn Elders refuse to acknowledge that STRIKING is as an IMPORTANT Element of COMPLETE Fighting as is Submission Grappling
Never pulling guard again?

Closed guard is an exceptionally powerful position in sport bjj (gi) and pretty much nowhere else outside of long limbed heavyweights in no gi like roger/pena/werdum etc.
it’s the collars and sleeves that make it so. Closed guard alone is ok. Closed guard with a deep collar and sleeve grip is a dominant position.
