After hearing Cub Swanson talk about how he acted in the JJ tournaments, I dont think Id ever root for him. Cub made him seem like an arrogant and entitled prick and those are my least favorite people.

Every fighter needs a good dose of humility once in awhile to keep them grounded. If he’s a true fighter, he’ll come back stronger

He might be nice and quiet. The part that stood out to me was when he said they were wearing the same gi so they went to give Kron the belt to put over his other belt to be able to tell them apart and Kron waved the ref off like it was beneath him to wear it.
To people hating on Kron - remember he won 2013 ADCC and submitted every opponent. See the match vs Gary Tonnon, one of the best you’ll see.
Now the criticism - I don’t think I’ve seen a pro fighter look worse on the heavy bag! No one should be pulling guard in modern mma unless you are 6’4 world champ like Werdum.

I dont mean to hate on anyone. I actualy wanted him to do well in the UFC. Probably out of some sort of weird nostalgia I feel from watching Royce live when I was 12 years old. But I also respect Cub a lot and knew exactly what he meant when he mimed the wave the ref off when they asked him to wear the “differentiating belt”. (That word cost $7 by the way)
I know cocky assholes and that sounds gayer than I want it to.
I understand Kron is as legit in BJJ as it gets. I would never discredit him but as a person, the jury is still out. I dont know him and I wont judge him too harshly from a story I heard online. I hope Kron is well and I hope you are well.

BJJ community did Cub completely wrong, not giving him points in his bjj match against Kron, not training with him cuz he’s facing Kron, etc. BJJ is a lot better today than it was in the past. Kron may be arrogant and one dimensional, but he should get some respect for his grappling ability and the fact he got out there to compete. He fights later this month in NYC, will be interesting
