It’s not just the UG - many on Reddit and elsewhere seem to not be that enthusiastic about Gables mma career either. I’m not sure if it’s due to the allegations, his shakiness in regards to sticking to a sport or his skin color .. or mma fans general pessimism
I mean, the constant complaining about the mma hvwt division being terrible, you’d think a young upcoming elite wrestler(in a great mma camp) would be met with incredible hype and enthusiasm but nope. Very odd
We loved Randleman and a lot of us DC too.
I think it’s more because of his wishy washiness about MMA

I will reserve judgement until he shows up and gets a win. Other then that I just learned he is black and potentially a rapist or maybe gay. All things that don’t matter just like his regional MMA record
due to his elite athletic ability he has options… and he explored them as he should as a young man with the world at his feet…

Fair enough but I think Gable has come to his senses and realizes what mma will give him if he commits. And evolves which he seems willing to do .. for now and immediate future I’m very excited about his mma career .
If Gable comes in and dominates that’s good for us .. if he comes out and can’t develop other skills and loses big like many other wrestlers have - oh well ..
he has just exhausted his other more favorable and preferred interests that always comes before MMA…
he could have continued bouncing around for several more years then stroll into MMA in his mid 30s and dominate…
now he can dominate and be done before his mid 30s…
no shame in his past or current path…
