He looks thrilled.

@GSTREBENDT Great photo! Did you ever get any mat time with him? I remember you mentioning the Hayastan in your interview with Mike.
Also, did you ever have any dealings with John Perretti?
He always looked like Rhonda Rousey ( she trained with us back then) and he taught her the resting bitch face. All joking aside he was a true gentleman though. Always kind and supportive.
I got lots of roll time woth Gokor. He was very very good and he would crush me.
And “me”.
Yeah I bet you were able to learn a lot with him…I was wondering if you’d met or had dealings with John Perretti because he had Gokor referee for him in the early Xtreme Fighting days at Gene LeBell’s recommendation. Didn’t know if you had ever crossed paths with Perretti at any point.
^^^^. Perretti did not jive with Gokor especially as referee
Gokor around that time had the old world way of dressing including the ankle boots
I trained at hayastan for like 6 weeks. Had a pretty good time
@GSTREBENDT did you train with harout? That dude might be the most underrated grappler ever
Yeah I knew they didn’t click. Perretti said he used Gokor in Xtreme Fighting 1 as a favor to LeBell. He started using John Donahue after that. I was just wondering if @GSTREBENDT had ever had any kind of dealings with Perretti or ever crossed paths.
You were the fella taking the picture? No way!
Would he tap you with normal stuff like armbars and straight ankles, or was it tons of random stuff? He had a 2-3 hour tape with all kinds of toe holds, calf crunches, bicep slicers, etc. Gokor had an insane repertoire of moves.
I never had any dealings with John Peretti
He would tap me with lots of top position moves like kimuras and key locks and neck cranks/side chokes. His knees were bad so he would pull guard and go easy but he wouldn’t hit triangles or anything off the bottom. I was about 175 back tjen and he was 225
I went there specifically because of the reputation Harut had in the southern california. Gokor said he was the best grappler he had ever seen. Harut moved to Vegas though and was a gangster. He was definitely an underground legend back then amd then a friend of mine fought him in mma and kicked the shit out of him, Matt Lindland, but a silver medalist in greco roman is a gangster in his own rite so there is no shame in that at all… then Murillo Bustamante beat the shit out of Lindland and Chuck Lidell (the judges were paid in the Liddel fight).. those were the dark ages
