Greatest Submissions

Ill share this one of mine. Havent ever seen it done elsewhere. It was in one of Jamie Levines shows ba k in the day. The opponents name was Craig Oxley. He was a US Sport Sambo champ and coincidentally is also the same guy that Genki Sudo hit the spinning wheel ankle lock that was shown earlier in this thread (Genki fought him first).

I hit him with a cricifix from within his gaurd.
Its a real nice pic as you can see the blurr motion from his hand tapping out. I made his chin touch his bellybutton.

This was my first fight in a cage and if the reff looks handsomely familiar, its Din Thomas.

When the fight was over and I was getting my hand raised, I saw my self on the megatron tv and kept opening and closing my had and watching it on the large tv above because it was sureal and I was so excited to see myself on it. It was like pinching myself to see uf it was real.
I signed my first mma autograph after the fight.

Thanks for giving me a reason to share, and yes I know I had a great ass!

It’s underrated imo. If guys can get finished in a punching crucifix they’ll tap to this one.

I don’t have pictures but they last time I hit one was on a 17yo kid with a history of psycho mental health issues. He got upset that I suggested he walk around me instead of me moving off there kitchen island I was leaning on. Well he starts swinging so I grab him by his flannel and snap him down as hard as I could. Then on his rebound I caught his head right in my armpit and laced in my underhooks. I was at a place with cameras and I really didn’t want to get Danny P’d so guillotine wasn’t an option. So I bulldozed him into the kitchen island, he collapsed I got a perfect grip and position sitting on his legs mashing him into that kitchen island. And to the camera it’s just a headlock with the kid’s arms pinned back. How could I be choking him? You can see my arms under his and my hands clasped on top of his back. I’m nowhere near his neck. But of course I was and he was in agony. I let up to merely immobile but then he would try to get out or talk shit. I didn’t squeeze any harder or make a big movement, but just arch in and puff my chest a little. It would sound like a squealing balloon for a split second, and the shit-talk would stop. We just went back and forth like that for 3-4 minutes, then an officer showed up. “You better let me go you fucking fa-GHhheeeeeeeKklch!!”

Matt Hughes using the Schultz Headlock on Ricardo Almeida. Greatest submission imo, considering how fucking good Almeida is at BJJ and how hard that submission is to get right.

This was a great one. You’re right, to sink this in on someone of Almeida’s level was incredibly impressive. One of the final great performances of Hughes’ career.

Thank you for that. Had a great tine at the strip club after. Coleman was there with his crew and I saw him demonstrating it on one of his guys. This was not long after he won the Pride GP. I went over and enjoyed a shot. One of my fondest memories next to lightly working out with Blatnick and Frank Shamrock at UFC 30 (first ZUFFA owned ufc). Great times and memories. Again, thanks for hiving me a readon to share!

Oxley was a “sports” jiujitsu champion, trained with ernie boggs in nitro wv. This style isnt near as effective as bjj but a 1000% more effective than any traditional jiujitsu in the western world

I met a really cool guy up in Rochester named Chris Herzog back around 2002-2003 who knew of him. I think the name of his gym was Empire JJ. I was introduced to Chris through a great guy named Walley McDonald. We were set up to fight each other through some quack promoter named Jerome somthing. Kept spamming the board with “The next big show” but they never happened. Wally and I became good friends and I even cornered him in a few fights. Chris used to be on mma.tv Both great guys!

Anacanda choke is probably one of my top three favorites.

The others were the gogoplata and a kimura half guard pass.
