GSP was too smart for Anderson
I think Anderson was the better fighter and then he was definitely more naturally gifted and he utilized those gifts better
GSP was a nerd who happened to choose fighting and martial arts as his favorite. He was so smart he could have threatened the wrestling enough to get Anderson shaky. And then he would have boxed him up. Almost the same way Johnny Hendrix had GSP stuttering cause he was so worried about the takedown

Dude not signing the contract to fight Jones when he’s not the champ of your division is not weak by any chance.
Especially on the down slope of your career
Jon Jones is by far hands down the greatest to ever do it in any weight class
He’s naturally sadistic naturally athletic. And on top of that the scariest part is I think he’s actually a smart dude who’s just very impulsive
I’m pretty sure Anderson also said that Jones would win. He wasn’t calling him out for a fight saying he would beat him, and putting all kinds of stipulations on the fight. He said Jon Jones would beat him.
Not like he said “oh, let’s do it at catchweight, Jon has to weigh in at 195 or 200. Also, pay me a fuck load of money. Also, use this testing agency that I want.” GSP wanted VADA or WADA, and once USADA came into play, he retired after arguably losing to Hendricks. I think GSP beat Hendricks, and Hendricks was obviously juiced to the gills, but that’s not the point.
