Dan Hooker’s “King of the Streets” fight league is returning early next year and it’s bigger and better than ever.
In case you missed it, Hooker launched his backyard fight promotion back in May 2025. It featured some of the biggest and boldest street fighters Auckland, New Zealand, has to offer as they duked it out for $50,000. The fights only last one minute each, but the event still produced some wild knockout finishes (check them out HERE).
All in all, it was a smashing success for “Hangman” as he took a hiatus from his own UFC career to heal some injuries.
While Hooker returned for a second installment of his fight league this past September (watch HERE), 2026’s event will up the stakes. According to a social media post from Hooker on Friday, the “King of the Streets” backyard fight league will return on Feb. 7 in Auckland and offer a grand prize of $100,000, which is doubling both payouts from earlier this year. That’s a great opportunity for any super heavyweight willing to put their health on the line for 60 seconds of hell.
“$100,000 on the line,” he wrote. “’King of the Streets’ is back. Feb. 7th. 100kg+ anyone can get it.”
Hooker, 35, is one of the most liked fighters on the UFC roster today. The lightweight contender is coming off a disappointing submission loss to No. 1-ranked Arman Tsarukyan last November, but “Hangman” remains 3-2 in his last five trips to the Octagon. He’s currently scheduled to return at UFC 325 on Jan. 31 in Sydney, Australia, in a co-main event scrap with streaking finisher Benoit Saint Denis.
He’s better than half the ufc heavyweights
