Sucker puncher is likely going to face a very long, if not indefinite, ban, and also possible criminal charges. Maybe a lawsuit.
I’m sure it felt satisfying in the moment since the other kid seems like a dick, but the long-term ramifications are going to cause him and his family a lot of headaches.

This is one of those weird times when I realize that playing hockey warped my sensibilities.
I’ve seen so many “sucker punches” to guys taking liberties, and I always side with the sucker puncher, but probably because I’ve waylayed guys trying to skate away before. 
If you are playing a rough sport, don’t do chickenshit dirty shit, or you might catch a whoopin’.
