This was i think the best Bas, circa 1999
Fujiwara produced this set in 1993, this is the original vhs tape and not the abomination sold by jake the snake
I have no clue why this shit won’t embed
Way better than I was expecting when I finally saw it.
They’re not bad
The time was the year 1997’, the place was the halls of the mountain king in almost heaven, west “by god” Virginia. His royal highness, Supreme grandmaster Cozat founded or recognized a new style a month for several years. Notice how grandmaster turned judo back into a ryu.
Around 2001 I had a chance to train with Tony, I’m bummed I didn’t
That would have been interesting, i always liked him. Back when he had the catch ground at the original underground it was always entertaining
Yeah in retrospect, I should have at least checked it out.
I got invited by a couple of his students on the old UG/OD, can’t remember their screen names and didn’t know their real names or don’t remember.
Chatting with them they told me the rolled pretty hard and would do shit like neck cranks and small joint manipulations and I was like “Nah, but thanks for the invite”.
At the time, it was shortly after recovering from a dislocated thumb from a guy cranking it trying to escape from a choke at a grappling class at a kempo-jujitsu place I was training at.
I was in my early 30s and was like I’m just doing this for fun and didn’t want anymore injuries. I was already getting weird looks all the time at work because of all the bruises on my arms from grappling. And trying to explain to co-workers and customers why I have all these bruises or some kind of splint/brace on got tiresome.
Circa 1987. The file i uploaded is from the reissue with the title changed to grappling master. I used my original box for the thumbnail. I paid $158 for the 3 tape set in 1988 dollards. Jesus wept
far out
Mark kerr vs Walt bayless would have been a fun fight
Indeed
