No disrespect.

But I was a fighter. And I have been dropped with liver shots in fights. I would use the word “quit” to describe what happened to Bo in that fight.

Not in the sense that he didn’t get dropped legitimately. But there is absolutely a mental state that fighters get into when they are losing a fight and can see the writing on the wall where they stop really trying to win and start trying to find a graceful way to exit. It’s not a conscious decision where they literally think “I am losing this fight, I need a way out.”

But body language and posture is very telling. In between rounds, Bo didn’t even seem to be listening to his corner. He was just staring out into space, to me in a way that screamed “I’m going to lose this fight, I wonder how.” We see it on a smaller scale when a guy intentionally lifts his chin from the back to give up the choke so the beating and embarrassment all comes to an end.

Bo’s body language in that sequence before the finish, when he was just kind of walking away with his hands over his body was not the movement of a fighter who is in the fight.

Maybe “quit” isn’t the right word in the sense that it isn’t like a “Petey my heart” moment. But his brain had assessed that he was going to lose and was just waiting for something decisive enough to land that it would be over without just taking a knee. And that final knee from RDR was the moment his lizard brain was looking for and he completely checked out.

I don’t know if I’m describing this well. But it is a feeling I’ve felt personally and seen in many other fighters over the year. They know it’s over, they know they don’t want to give up, but they are just kind of waiting for either something big enough to land to get them out of there or just survive until the fight is over.

He was getting his ass kicked. He had no answer. Didn’t have the right set of tools in the toolbox. His body language reflected such.

But… he was still swinging.

If youve fought enough, you know that all liver shots aren’t the same. Its rare but if you take the wrong liver shot, you loose all of your faculties.

Its not a pain thing, its a nerves shutting down thing.

Unless Bo is a world class actor, that is what happened. Legs gave out right after it landed.

Rockhold is washed up and jealous that Bo isn’t. The guy is being a huge hater.

He goes on to talk about RDR fighting DDP or Strickland, aka world champion level fighters.
Then he shames Bo for not being on that level.

Bo got outclassed, plain and simple. Did he get exposed ? Yes, he isn’t ready for title contention. Unsurprisingly, 185 is a deep division and Bo’s career is relatively new.

Did he get exposed to the point where" this guys isnt a fighter ,he has no heart?" No. Fuck that.

I was surprised that the UFC made this matchup. Bo didn’t have anything for RDR. His only hope was takedowns then lay and pray. I’m glad he got humbled. He could still be very good, but his standup needs a lot of work.

Josh is kind of a retard thou

Good take.

I think the loss will be good for Bo.

If he quit like the critics say, we will never see him again. (I.e. Why quit mid fight and continue a career?)

If he has heart and still wants it, he will learn from this ass whooping and come back looking for blood.

I think we’re on two different wavelengths here.

I don’t think the shot that dropped him wasn’t real. I’m saying his body language for the rest period and the second round leading up to the ko were of a fighter who had already mentally checked out after realizing he had no shot. His subconscious wasn’t trying to win a fight anymore, it was waiting for something like that knee to land so it would be over.

Nope

To quote the ginger douche, “when I’m champ they can suck my dick and I’ll spit in their face.”

It’s almost like clockwork. It’s like these idiots haven’t seen countless cocky fighter gets humbled vids and choose to be a cocky asshole
