Except for high tech electronics like phone and computers it seems like most things are turning into crap.
Cars, full of electronic shit, motors that grenade before people can pay them off. Touch screens instead of real buttons.
Food, the quality and quantity of food has gone down. You expect inflation and shrink flation, but they lower the quality of food too. Even junk food is getting crappier from what I’ve read.
Appliances, they have computer boards that’ll instead of cheap to replace dials, replacement parts cost more than a new appliance
Even plastic is shitty, plastic is used in expensive machinery to save money but they charge you an arm and a leg for a plastic cog that take hours to get to. It’s not like the good old plastic when I was younger.
Movies, when Im looking for a show I often settle for an old show I’ve seen or one that I missed. Even movies made a decade ago is better than the woke bs they have now. I’m tired of seeing super over powered women and weak pathetic men.
Music, woke canned bs. I like the classic rock from the 70s and 80s better. Even the 90s and 2000s seems much better to me.
Women! I talked to a woman my moms age at my daughters preschool play day and she talked about how things were in her day. She said women were expected to work, then come home and cook and care for th kids. She lamented how worthless her daughter in law was, and how women in general don’t know how good they have it these days. I almost invited her to the old OG

Another thing I’ve noticed is that new movies all have this ugly color to it that makes it look extremely manufactured and fake and plastic

Similarly with night scenes in cities. The change in the streetlights totally change the lightning in films/tv where it doesn’t look as cool as the good ol’ days.

Most new shit does suck, but its a trade off. Cameras and phones can do all kinds of shit but trucks are gayer, clothes are shitty quality if you buy the same stuff as before, furniture lasts half as long, etc

I did a disgusting thing about an hour ago and went to McDonald’s for the first time in probably years. I ate two double cheeseburgers and two spicy mcchicken sandwiches. They were both slightly smaller than I remembered. And each was buy 1 get 1 for $1. But the measly double cheeseburger was like 4.50 and the chicken was close to that I think. Definitely a lot more expensive for less product.

the thing is the market is not completely free with the way our gov (and other governments) are able to just “print $$” out of thin air, reducing the value of our currency
if it was truly “Free”, bank bailouts, government mandated lockdowns would not happen
many things are more expensive (costs more $$s) not because the fixed costs of production and raw materials have gone up, quite the opposite actually. it is because our currency is worth less everyday at an exponential rate

Planned obscelesence is unfortunately a very real thing and it seems like it got way worse in the last few years. We recently got our roof redone and the roofer said even asphalt shingles have lowered in quality. The Internet calls it enshitification.
