Is self defense basically illegal if you trane where you live?

There is a disturbing trend here in Hawaii. A lot of people are going to jail for defending themselves or engaging in mutual combat. Some of these incidents are the person giv8ng one or two punches and the guy not being able to take the punch and stumbling backwards and hitting his head.

Ive heard the prosecution using the trained fighter thing to enhance the charge. I know of a few guys that went to jail for a year for one punch.

The more I hear about these stories it makes me want to carry pepper spray and just hose guys that are getting violent.

What about Austin?

The local DA’s can still charge you but if it is a true self-defense situation you will most likely be acquitted.

Edit - Speaking about Texas

There are a lot of people that talk shit here, especially white guys. I just walk away because these guys will press charges when the fight doesn’t go there way

And it’ll only cost you $500,000 minimum for a bullshit prosecution…

True. But I would rather be in debt than be in prison. Especially in Texas with the Latinos running shit. My Spanish is not that good and I don’t tan enough to fit in.

I had to have my hands registered as lethal weapons here in CA. I’m relocating states soon so I have to look into what is going to be required there.

This older Asian guy was getting picked on by this Samoan kid that was bigger. The small Asian guy gave him a flying kick to his chest and the kid died. Stupid mom turned into a black mom and said her son was a good boy. If he had beaten that Asian guy to death I’ll bet he would have walked

No, for a shit hole half commie state, Washington State comes from a legacy of strong self defense laws/case laws.

We don’t have stand your ground laws per se. But I have very rarley seen examples of people defending themselves, and getting fucked over super hard. I’ve dodged a few heinous charges related to extreme violence in self defense. Never even been prosecuted over them, thank fucking god lol.

Its also at an will prosecution state, so random fist fights, as long as they arent DV related, arent zealously prosecuted as long as one party isnt grievously injured. Its generally looked at as mutual combat, although urban legend is we have “mutal combat” laws here, there is no such thing on the books.
