I know people love to shit on Jake Paul and he obviously handpicks his opponents, but I actually think he’s much better than people give him credit for. Would he ever be a legit belt holder? No. Would he be a solid journeyman? I think so, he has skill and athletic ability. He’s not world class, but he’s good. He’s not CM Punk.
People pretend boxers of his experience level aren’t fighting cab drivers and tomato can journeymen on their way up.
Only difference is Paul is doing it on a bigger platform because he is a celebrity.
The Tyson fight was disgraceful, but that is more on the TX commission for sanctioning the fight.
Yup. Unless you have some crazy amateur pedigree(like an Olympian), in the beginning you’re fighting 4 rounders against guys with limited experience.

Old Vitor was incapable of fixing a fight. His blitz would overwhelm even himself. Still, he didn’t hold back much to poor Holyfield so I still hold hope for him blitzing Paul.
The contract jake gives to them is why things are the way they are. Integrity for a shitload more than they made in the ufc…

Jake can absolutely fight a bit, hes been boxing for like 7 or 8 years now with access to the best resources and coaching. It would take a not old 185’er with hands/power to beat him under boxing rules I think, maybe a few 170’ers like Shavkat, Garry or Buckley could do it too.
Tbh I think he’d have a good shot at beating guys like Nate, Jorge, Ferg and Conor even under MMA rules at this point if he can lure them into whoring out their name for money, which he probably can.
