Jake Paul No longer Under PFL Contract

Jake Paul is no longer under PFL contract.

The social influencer turned boxer made quite a splash when he signed with the promotion back in 2023 with plans to eventually transition into MMA. Now three years later, the deal is done, and Paul has officially exited his existing association with PFL.

Sources close to the situation confirmed the split with MMA Fighting on Wednesday following an initial report from Yahoo Sports.

Paul leaving the PFL wasn’t under contentious circumstances but rather his deal just came to an end. Judging by the timing, Paul’s deal lasted almost exactly three years from the date of his signing.

Despite his initial interest in pursuing a career in MMA, Paul never made any serious moves to compete in the PFL, although he made several callouts including his attempt to book a fight against UFC veteran Nate Diaz.

“I’ve proven myself in and out of the boxing ring and now I am going to do the same in MMA, and there is no limit to the positive impact I can make on the sport,” Paul said about his move into MMA in a statement after first signing with PFL. “I plan to enter the PFL SmartCage and once again show the world that that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.”

Ultimately, Paul’s main focus remained with boxing where he’s continued putting together blockbuster fights for himself including his highly publicized showdown against Mike Tyson and then eventually facing former multi-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

The latter fight ended with Paul suffering his second professional loss when Joshua scored a jaw-shattering knockout in their matchup this past December.

Paul eventually had surgery to repair the damage done, but he’s already announced plans to return to action sometime in 2026 once his jaw is healed.

As far as MMA goes, it appears the 29-year-old fighter isn’t making any immediate plans to fight in that sport, especially with continued opportunities available to him in boxing.

He gets a ufc main card fight this year hopefully. Who will he fight? I’m guessing it will be at 185lbs. I think the ufc should try something new and have famous people fight once in a while. They let cm punk fight back in the day. So why not Jake or his brother

CM Punk of course!

They could not afford him anyways

Jake Paul vs Jake Shields in the ufc would be epic. Good first mma fight for Paul.

I would watch to see either Shields knock him out or Paul winning with a kimura

It’s just that anyone currently in the ufc at Jake’s weight will be able to beat him with grappling. That’s why he should fight a retired guy or another celeb for his first mma fight.

White House Card

Paul vs Masvidal

Masvidal is way too experienced and still youngish. Would be a grappling clinic. Like what Colby did to him

He got out of his contract with a perfect 0-0 record too! Impressive
