Sort of…

"The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world.

The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.“

There’s a lot of sense in his thoughts, yes he was right in some things.

He’s was objectively wrong in his actions

If you cant see this as being the antichrist system coming into place, what else do you need to see? They arent gonna just tell you its the antichrist system until its too late. But they drop hints in your face all day every day. In every facet of your life.

He was absolutely right. The problem was in how he delivered his message.

Theodore

Yeah putting bombs in peoples mailboxes wasn’t an effective delivery tactic ..

I remember growing up seeing the sketch of the Unabomber and thinking he would probably never get caught

If the internet and social media had been around during his time, he could have easily been an influencer on the level of Jordan Peterson.

Hell, he could have wrote best-selling books. But alas…

I wonder what would’ve happened to him if hadn’t been used in those brainwashing experiments in Harvard.

How do you go about starting a revolution against the use of technology? Any better plan?

He was definitely right about at lot of things, there’s is a lot that makes sense in his manifesto.

The way he went about getting the message out was obviously wrong and terrible, but he was probably correct about it being an effective way to spread his message. Most of us would never have heard what he had to say without the bombings…

Kaczynski uses rose-colored glasses to view pre-industrial life. Far from being a natural state of freedom, life before the Industrial Revolution was highly violent and defined by a constant struggle against starvation, diseases and predators. Anthropological evidence suggests they faced extreme physical insecurity and high rates of interpersonal violence.

In the pre-industrial era, average life expectancy at birth was 33 years. High infant mortality meant that about half of all children died before adolescence. Survival was dominated by infectious diseases and frequent mortality crises linked to famine and war.

Kaczynski labeled art, science and hobbies as surrogate activities that are supposedly inferior to survival tasks. But humans have always engaged in these behaviors, they are a natural part of human flourishing rather than artificial modern symptoms. He never clearly defined what makes a goal real, his own intense pursuit of reading and writing is a contradiction.

He blamed industrial society for oversocializing people into rigid moral codes, but strict psychological conditioning was even more prevalent in traditional agricultural and religious societies.

Didn’t Luigi look up to this guy?

Uncle Ted was right, I’ve been saying this for years.

Modern leftish philosophers tend to dismiss reason, science, objective reality and to insist that everything is culturally relative. More importantly, the leftist hates science and rationality because they classify certain beliefs as true (i.e., successful, superior) and other beliefs as false (i.e., failed, inferior). The leftist’s feelings of inferiority run so deep that he cannot tolerate any classification of some things as successful or superior and other things as failed or inferior. This also underlies the rejection by many leftists of the concept of mental illness and of the utility of IQ tests. Leftists are antagonistic to genetic explanations of human abilities or behavior because such explanations tend to make some persons appear superior or inferior to others. Leftists prefer to give society the credit or blame for an individual’s ability or lack of it. Thus if a person is “inferior” it is not his fault, but society’s, because he has not been brought up properly.

I don’t know, it seems Ted had good instincts.

David Gelernter, 70 — who made headlines in 1993 when he survived an explosive sent by “Unabomber” Theodore Kaczynski — has come under fire over an email he sent to Epstein in October 2011.

The message, which was sent years after Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from an underage girl, saw Gelernter tout a Yale senior for a job with the disgraced financier, describing her as “v small good-looking blonde.”

I see nothing wrong with how Uncle Ted went about things. Fuck his cunt sister in law and his brother for turning him in.

More knowledge from Uncle Ted. He was way ahead of his time.

Leftists may claim that their activism is motivated by compassion or by moral principles, and moral principle does play a role for the leftist of the oversocialized type. But compassion and moral principle cannot be the main motives for leftist activism. Hostility is too prominent a component of leftist behavior; so is the drive for power. Moreover, much leftist behavior is not rationally calculated to be of benefit to the people whom the leftists claim to be trying to help. For example, if one believes that affirmative action is good for black people, does it make sense to demand affirmative action in hostile or dogmatic terms? Obviously it would be more productive to take a diplomatic and conciliatory approach that would make at least verbal and symbolic concessions to white people who think that affirmative action discriminates against them.
But leftist activists do not take such an approach because it would not satisfy their emotional needs. Helping black people is not their real goal. Instead, race problems serve as an excuse for them to express their own hostility and frustrated need for power. In doing so they actually harm black people, because the activists’ hostile attitude toward the white majority tends to intensify race hatred.
