ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A 10-year-old from Farmington is taking his mixed martial arts (MMA) skills to Brazil.

Jaxon Baker is a champion MMA fighter who is coached by his dad.

“Jaxon was rambunctious, always fighting with me, and I was like, ‘Hey man, how about we take you to the gym,’” recalled Alec, who is trained in MMA fighting.

Jaxon told First Alert 4 that he loved the sport so much that he wanted to keep improving and competing.

In March of 2025, Jaxon competed in the Gamma Youth MMA National Championships, where he took home the belt.

Now, Jaxon will head to Brazil to represent Team USA at the Youth MMA World Championships.

This is how it will be in the future. We saw with Bo that NCAA wrestling isn’t producing top fighters anymore. It will go to that boxing type system where everyone starts super young and have shit tons of amateur fights.

It’s why the Dagis are dominant right now - they already kind of have that with combat sambo.
