Ilia’s weak point is his wrestling. Arman was stronger than Charlie and Ilia didn’t manhandle Charlie by any stretch.

But whilst it’s true Volk and Holloway might not have been in their prime - that’s not Ilia’s fault and he was still up against wiley, seasoned vets who are still capable of being at the top of their divs
Especially Oliveira who still has some miles left
True, if he’d beaten Arman (or was facing him at WH instead of JG) his resume would be impeccable
But he’s beaten everyone put in front of him and in spectacular fashion - he’s very very good

Exactly. We don’t know. He is at least a level 7 in grappling and wrestling. But the top guys are 9s & 10s. Ilia could also be at that level, we just don’t know yet! He grappled very well with Charles to escape and get back to his feet. That was high level. He subbed Mitchel easily. The few times he attempted takedowns, he got them. But is he at Arman and Islam levels? We don’t know yet.
The test would have been charles if there was more grappling but he already has it..

I thought Oliveira beat Arman. You gotta think that Oliveira could beat Ilia in a longer fight. He just fought like an absolute idiot.
Topuria has strong grappling. Very strong grappling. He went to the ground with Charles and managed to compose himself and get back up no problem. He might have had too position though I can’t remember at the top of my head
The difference between Max and Ilia though is Ilia has insane power. Max tagged Charles sever times early in the rounds but with no power behind them
What hes done so far is historic

Max and Volk both are 0 power guys that win on points. Not a fan of that. My style has always been pure power. I hate the Mayweather’s and Shakur Stevensons. They make combat sports less fun to watch
