Just how good was shogun?

For the demographic here on this version of the OG it is mind bottling the thread and questions even exist.

One if my favorite Kos of all time. Thats abiut as hard as a person can hit another person. Gravity(gravy cavity) and force working together to stop one of the most dangerous men on the planet in Reem.

It was accurate like a missile too!

You’re right about the excuses thing. He was a true Brazilian unicorn.

A lot of these guys keep taking fights because it’s the best money available to them. Many of these guys spend their career years as fighters so they have nothing left to fall back on later when they want to retire.

Shogun at his peak was incredible. His run in pride was awesome to watch.

My 2nd favorite fighter behind saku

I watched an old training video where they went hard, Wanderlei was on sidelines throwing up, they kept going, shogun won every exchange and they were basically full on fighting with shin pads on

He was a tough guy. Tougher than some of today’s fighters.

He made some fashion parades.

Pride, prime shogun, no one can beat. I believe prime no injuries Shogun would have beat jones

He was damn good and had a great mix of skills. Chute Boxe training and injuries were his worst enemy.

He would have been a 185er in modern MMA, but he was great enough to dominate against the best in the world in higher weight classes. The human body has a mileage meter.
