Weird. I enjoyed the book and respected that Rickson used it to destroy his own mythic reputation and go warts-and-all. Not sure how it would make a compelling movie though.

Wasnt his body sitting around for weeks before it was identified?

Motorcycle accident would be a quick id

I think it was drugs and the other stories are a cover

That was what was put out there to start with and it was the families story for many years but there were always rumours it wasn’t true and was drug related.

In his book he just puts it all out there. Rickson hadn’t spoken to him in over a month and he asked Renzo to look into him. After investigating and realising no one knew where he was, Renzo identified him from a police photo and they found he was buried as a John Doe in a paupers grave. His death certificate said tests showed he died of a drug overdose. Rickson believe’s there could have been foul play but that’ll never be known.

Probably fiction.

We’ll get to see his 400-0 “fight” record told by Hollywood.

He also had multiple identifying tattoos such as “Gracie” on the back of his head and one that was something like “World’s greatest father: Rickson Gracie”. Renzo also knew he was in NY at the time.

You would think an investigating officer or coroner might google Rickson Gracie and bloody find some contact info on the deceased lad’s “world’s greatest father.”
