Former UFC and Bellator fighter Melvin Guillard is not currently in jail, though he faced significant legal trouble in Colorado. In 2018 and 2019, Guillard was arrested and later pleaded guilty to assault charges connected to violent bar and club altercations in Denver
Melvins later career was very rough to watch for me.

Blaming his failures on Katrina is bizzare. He made it to the UFC after Katrina and had countless opportunites to succeed for many years. His failures are because he was an idiot and made bad choices in life.
But I really did enjoy his fights. They were nearly always entertaining.
