I think Kimo and Hacknry were both slated to fight in the ufc 10 tournament(along with Igor Vovchanchin ufc debut) but things fell through

The Sakuraba Kimo fight was always puzzling to me but like you mentioned on the ep, Kimo doing headbutts to back of the head is not usually a move seen in works so it felt more legit for the time.
I know you got 2 yellow cards today but got one more for you Mike lol, you said the Dan Severn vs Kimo fight was left off the Pride DVD but it was on it and I remember watching all 30 minutes⌠It might of been left off later releases but the original DVD definitely had it on there.
Mike also mentioned talking to Joe Son so can we all expect a gift coming in the way of the next Prison Series episode with the Joe Son Do Master?

Ran into Joe Son at Dennyâs before he got arrested. I lived in the same neighborhood as Kimo for a while. I saw him walking around the neighborhood a few times.

I think Kimo would have a win over Sapp if not for those shenanigans. I remember that one well. That really sucks. Was rooting for him.
Very good interview overall.
But they glossed over the first Shamrock fight, and completely skipped the second fight.
I can see where he might not want to talk about a loss like that. But training for and fighting a big name like Ken twice must have left some impressions worth hearing about.
Was there some agreement prior to the interview not to get into the Shamrock fights?
Also, the Tank Abbot fight section was hilarious!

Traveling chaotic day wonât do this post correctly so a reminder to come back.
Just changed a darn tire late night hotel parking lot.
Anyway listened last night when falling asleep the talk around the ring entrance brought back some forgotten memories from watching that as it happened with a group of friends and made me laugh.
So many things about those early shows helped catapult the popularity of NHB.
