Nate Diaz has been charged with misdemeanor battery stemming from an alleged incident at a nightclub in Las Vegas back in August.
According to online court records obtained by MMA Fighting, Diaz was hit with the misdemeanor battery charge on Oct. 16 over an incident that allegedly took place on Aug. 24 at the Omnia nightclub in Las Vegas. TMZ first reported the news.
Diaz’s representatives did not respond for comment from MMA Fighting.
The charge stems from an alleged altercation at the club where Diaz and some friends were waiting in line to be admitted into the Omnia nightclub inside Caesar’s Palace.
Diaz and his friends were reportedly holding up the line when a security guard from the Omnia approached the ex-UFC fighter to see what was happening. The situation turned physical after Diaz allegedly pushed the security guard, who then pushed him back before Diaz allegedly hit the security guard in the face with “an open right hand.”
A video of the alleged altercation circulated back in September that shows Diaz shoving a person away by the face, knocking off their glasses before putting up his hands with more people swooping in to de-escalate the situation.
By the time police arrived to deal with the altercation, Diaz had already exited the property.
A misdemeanor battery charge was eventually filed against Diaz in October and the case is ongoing.
If convicted, Diaz faces a potential penalty of up to six months in jail and fines up to $1,000 but it’s highly unlikely he’ll deal with the maximum penalty in a misdemeanor case like this.
The 39-year-old fighter was actually just in Las Vegas this past weekend cornering his friend Kron Gracie at UFC 310 for his fight against Bryce Mitchell. Diaz last appeared in the ring back in July when he won a decision in a boxing match against fellow UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal.
Give it about 5 years Nate, Nick and NDA will be crack heads together in Warren Michigan.
I think they’ll end up at the advance meth base Kron already established in Montana.
These are the type of situations where a fighter will get dropped or ko’d by something they’re not expecting & internet dorks will talk shit about them for the rest of forever. Nate’s boys should step in quick to not let this kinda shit happen.
“I know exactly who threw the water bottle. I seen it. It was the Flyweight Russian kid [Tagir Ulanbekov],” Royval revealed. “He was the one who threw the first water bottle. I turned around and saw it. I saw who f—king threw it; it whizzed past my f—king head.”
As one would expect, as soon as the water bottle was thrown Diaz’s way, he retaliated, which was caught on video - and it was that that made Royval want to clear Diaz’s name.
Number one-ranked UFC flyweight Brandon Royval happened to be in the area where the incident between Nate Diaz and Islam Makhachev’s team occurred. During an interview with MMAFighting, Royval alleged that it was Makhachev’s side that started the altercation.
“A water bottle almost hit me when I was with [Nate] Diaz, and I’m like, ‘Alright, who the fck am I fcking up?’” UFC flyweight Brandon Royval told MMA Fighting. “I don’t care who it is. Diaz is walking in front of me. The water bottle fcking zooms by my head. That’s another thing people didn’t see. Diaz did not throw that first water bottle.*
“The first water bottle was thrown at him. He was walking, that water bottle zoomed past, almost fcking took me out. I look up and I’m like, ‘Who the fck was that?’ and then Diaz turned around and I’m like, ‘Oh, they’re going after him.’ But originally I thought these motherfckers were throwing water bottles at me. I was like what the fck?”
Dude pushed Nate back seems like he either wanted the smoke our was trying for a suite.
Fuck that pussy either way. Imagine being a door man and pressing charges, what a fag.
It is most likely the policy of the place he works at. They are liable for everything he does.
