Nerd Alert! Magic the Gathering

There are so many cards it’s fun with. The old school combo of choice was Howling Mine (everyone draws an extra card).

Yes! That too!

Peer into the Abyss was a popular pairing for a bit a few years back. It’s fallen out of favor, which I think is mostly due to its high mana value.

Megrim! I remember when we used to play that card! They need to reprint it so the young’uns can appreciate it!

What was the card that took a point of life for every card in your hand at 3 or fewer? It was a black card but I can’t remember the name.

Black Vise, maybe?

Nopers. I can’t seem to find it either.

I think I know what you’re talking about. I suspect it’s either an enchantment or a static ability of a creature. Its on a card that’s available in Arena, I think…

OH wait! I think it might be a planeswalker…

This was an older one, I think. It was in the deck with wheel and deal, underworld dreams and megrim.

I found a page with 3 decks that hint at what you’re getting at, but that 1 card you’re asking about is missing. I’m getting mad at myself because I know I’ve seen the card!

Damn! Turns out there’s a shitload of them:

Are you maybe thinking about Rackling?

Pretty sure I have multiple copies of Megrim from when I used to play Portal.

I gotta find my binder with all my cards in it and see what the fuck is in there.

Wonder if any of them are worth money.

Let us know what you find! I had collected cards for year & years, never paying attention to their worth. Then one day a buddy started giving me serious grief for not using sleeves. At first, I was like “I purchase the cards to PLAY! I’m not a collector!”…

But then out of curiosity, I began to look up a couple of my card values.

Guess who immediately invested in sleeves?

What the fuck? This one island card is worth $200?!?

Now I really gotta find my binder LOL.

I never used sleeves for the same reason, and I still have all my cards from the 90’s. I’ve never spent time checking prices but I’m confident there are some good ones in there.

Right?!? But when I saw I had a number of cards that were worth hundreds of dollars each, I changed my tune… I have 2 cards that sell for roughly $950. They were selling for $1200 for awhile…
