A man in his early 50s died Friday after being attacked by a pit bull in a home in the first block of Lovejoy Lane in Alton.
Alton Police and firefighters were called to the home for a dog bite call just before 5 p.m. on Friday. Family members were waiting in the driveway, but the bite victim was still in the house with the dog. Alton firefighters waited for police to secure the scene.
Officers reportedly entered the home, and a gunshot was heard. After the shot was fired, police, firefighters and Alton Memorial Ambulance personnel tried valiantly to treat the man and called for a helicopter ambulance.
Despite their best efforts, the man succumbed to the bleeding and injuries to an arm. The Madison County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene and the man was pronounced dead.
Alton Police, Alton Fire Department, and the Madison County Coroner’s Office had not responded to inquiries about the incident at publishing time.
so these idiots get a breed, that would never hurt a fly! and that wears honeybee costumes next to toddlers in family pics, that is simply uncontrollable when it eventually attacks someone
the owners cannot handle it, the firemen cannot handle it, and they need a cop to shoot it in order to stop it

and LOL @ the entire reporting and the "dog expert " lady covering for the dumb pit and blaming the dead guy
- they state “it is not known who owned the dog”
- the guy lived in That home with his brother and the dog also tried to attack the brother as well (aka the pitbull/pit mix proving it is the GOAT at mauling its own human fmaily owners)
- the “dog expert” lady states how “all breeds of dogs can bite” , “very rare for dog bites to end in death”, and of course, lists “triggers” that can cause a dog to attack (an intoxicated person, the person having a medical emergency, or the dog having a disease)
- they show video of a bunch of dogs that are NOT pitbulls
conclusion, the “a dog” is a pitbull/pit mix, “the home” is the guy’s own home, and “the reason for the attack” is it was a pitbull

“It was three pit bulls, vicious pits. They came up under there, attacked her, she was screaming for her husband who went outside to help her, they had started biting on him,” Jenkins said.
Her daughter, Keshia Anthony, and 9-year-old grandson were there too and jumped in to help.
“It wasn’t nothing that could stop them dogs. They had already bit into my mom they took a chunk of her arm, her legs were ate up. It was nothing that could be done to stop those damn dogs from touching her. It’s a problem. Why would you let some vicious dogs like that loose,” Anthony said.
St. Louis Police said Anthony’s husband fired shots into the air to scare the dogs off, which was picked up by ShotSpotter technology, dispatching police toward their house. But his gun jammed and he started fighting them off with a broom.
“Two different police officers deployed pepper spray as a third police officer sprang into action and rescued the woman, bringing her inside her home for safety,” St. Louis police spokesman Mitch McCoy said.
Police said they had to use multiple tourniquets and she was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery but didn’t make it. Her husband was also treated for multiple bite wounds and is expected to be OK physically, but Keshia said her dad is devastated.
“Everybody that knew her loved her. She had so many friends. It’s just crazy that this happened to her like this. She didn’t deserve it at all, not one bit of it. And now she got grandkids that don’t have their grandmother,” Anthony said.
Weak police
The office said upon investigation, it found Darnelle A. Greeno, 52, was attacked by her dog and sustained multiple bites throughout her body. Greeno was pronounced dead on the scene.
There’s claims it’s an American Bulldog.

Had a 100lb blonde physical trainer ex in Colorado that had an Anatolian Shepard that bit everyone. It bit everyone and she didn’t do anything about it. That motherfucker nipped my hand one day and I turned around and smacked that thing in the head with an open hand as hard as I could. It needed a standing 8 count, lol it stumbled around for a little bit then ran and laid in the corner sumbmissevely then followed me around like a little bitch and did exactly what I said the rest of the time I dated her. Women shouldn’t own dogs
