- If you cum on the ground god will kill you.
Testament just rules in general. Great band.
It wasn’t carved in stone… wait
Oh brutha! Do you understand why Onan was struck down?
Amazing to read these threads on this form. I don’t have the ability to sit a argue/proselytize about scripture, theology, etc on the internet, or even in person very much. But I will offer this, not just you, but everyone reading this…get a bible in a year plan, maybe choose the chronological plan and start reading. Look things up that make you ask WTF!!! Look at multiple analysis of of the passage from different sources. Especially OT, takes a little effort to understand culture and context. The more you read and learn, things become more clear if one does it with an opne mind and heart.
If you make an honest effort, but it just looks like total crap and feel it is a waste of time, cool you gave it a shot…CHUCK THE BIBLE into the trash, or donate it or delete the file if you use an online version.
It took me a couple years to work my way through the bible and decide to start going to church. I hated religion, saw it as BS and hypocrites, etc. Now I’ve seen God’s work in my life, his timing and his word as truth.
peace!
OT summary:
God makes everything, humans instantly fuck it up. God chooses one family for endless circumcision. Floods, plagues, endless stupid rules, and epic family feuds follow. Israel can’t stop worshiping shiny shit. Prophets yell. God swings between “I love you forever” to “I am going to smite the fuck out of you cunts”.
Most important?
Everyone ends up waiting for a savior.
I find it to be quite the coincidence that the people who wrote it, spoke the language and translated it just so happened to say God chose them alone to inherit the world.
How serendipitous.
The Rascal makes some good points in this thread.
Well… if you want to truly tie the OT to what Jesus was up to in the NT (not just the OT messianic prophecies), you need to add something about Exodus, Deuteronomy (what DID Josiah do to these books?) and Wisdom (what did the Jews do to the First Temple?)…
If the Semitic-speaking Jews had written it in Spanish, would that have been more believable for you?.. lol…
Well the Muzzies have the same origin story and in their language it just so happens to be them.
Abraham spoke Arabic?
May shock you to know that he likely didn’t speak Hebrew or Arabic….
The OT seems mainly about a covenant of loyalty between God and the Israelites.
The Israelites are not very good at keeping the covenant. So God gets angry and punishes them. Then they repent and follow the covenant and then dont, and God punishes them again…
Yeah because he was violating his duty to god and family by not impregnating his brothers wife.
Strange comment, as I didn’t insinuate either… but then again, you don’t seem to be able to make much sense on this subject…
Deut. 25:5–10
Lol huh?
You pointed out he didn’t speak Arabic and I pointed out he didn’t speak Hebrew either.
That can’t be that hard to follow…
I don’t think you read your own posts, my man…
And, to be honest, I don’t blame you…
Nah you just took it as me meaning the Jews when I was relaying the fact the story is iterated across cultures and the people doing the translating are all claiming it is theirs.
This subject gets people upset lol
Not upset at all… just amused and laughing at you stepping in your own shit…
You have not even made enough sense about what your point was about the OT for anyone to have an opinion about it… keep running in circles… or maybe try to post in Hebrew… or Arabic… lmao…
