I got hit with one at 18 on spring break. They didn’t take me in though. I was cuffed, they wrote citation, told me to go back to hotel and let me go. I just had to either go back for court 6 months later or pay a stupid expensive fine. I just sent them a check. That was the end of it. It doesn’t even show on my squeaky clean record 
Hopefully, he wasn’t being a douchebag or trying to fight. Seems weird they would arrest anyone for that unless it was out of control.

every state should have a law like this, it allows the police to scoop up people being a public nuisance and let them sober up jail or detox for a few hours.
