Jones fan boys aren’t any worse than DC fan boys. DC is a better person that Jones, but I think not by as much as you would like to think

Not really. I’m not saying Jones is a nice guy. He is a jerk, but he is one of the finest fighters ever. I think DC is on his level even though he lost to him twice

Idk. I feel like he was in the right place at the right time to take advantage of a few things. He was one of the first real light heavyweights. He fought a lot of blown up middleweights. Look at some pics from his fights as they start and look how much bigger he is than most of his opponents. Its kinda shocking. I saw it on one of gurus vids. He had 5 or 6 still shots of Jon and his opps at the face off at the start of the fight and all of them he was so much bigger than who he was fighting. When he fought guys his size, he struggled.
None of this is his fault. Its not his fault there was an advantage to be had and he took it. But you mix having a size advantage and PEDs and you get one of the greatest runs in MMA history.
Thats about as much praise as Ill ever give him. He might be great but hes also a coward. He ran from Tom. He acted like he didnt know who Tom was but I saw the old interview he did, before he thought he was going to move up, where he said Tom was a guy to watch out for and said he was exciting and dangerous. Then when it came the opportunity to fight him, he acted like a complete bitch about it. I couldnt believe it. He did all that work and beat all those people just to expose himself as a coward at the thought of fighting someone that was bigger than him. He did it with ngannou first. And then with Tom. Then he came out and fought the ghost of 50 year old Stipe and everybody jumped all on his nuts again. Fck off with that. Jon Jones is a coward. There is no amount of words anyone can tell me that will change my mind. Its why he cheated with roids. It why he hit the pregnant lady and broke her arm and then fled the scene. Its why he wouldnt fight Tom or Francis. Hes coward hearted and thats facts.

Some of what you say is right, but I think you discredit some of JJs greatness. He was dominant well past his prime. Gone were the explosive takedowns but he managed to stay on top against guys in their prime.
Who in their prime do you think would beat a 35 year old JJ? Jones would rape every LHW fighter now in his prime or 35

I have a feeling primeJiri would be a nightmare for 35yo Jones. Jon has no power in his punches and has never knocked a fighter down(some goat at fighting) and thats about the only way to stop Jiri. Jiri is well rounded enough and has very under rated grappling on top of just going for it and those dude always give Jon fits. Jiri might beat the Jones that fought Anthony Smith. Jiri might beat the Jones that fought Thiago Santos. Guys who werent beat before they got into the cage, give Jon trouble.
Im not saying Jones couldnt walk right thru him as well but I think Jiri would give him fits.

100% Jones had a lot of things in his career go just right for him in terms of timing.
I don’t think that’s a controversial statement at all. It’s just obvious.
And then he ducked the real challenges he could have faced at HW until such time as he could have the most advantageous matchups in a historically weak state of the HW division.
He’s a legacy padder.
