I don’t want to derail the thread..
But Jones even in his prime was not nearly as dominant vs the next generation of LHWs who were closer to him in size.
He had a streak where he failed to finish something like 9 of 11 fights over about 10 years. (I’d have to look it up for the exact number).
And I personally believe there are several all-time HWs who at their peaks would probably beat him.
Maybe more.
Him and prime Cro Cop were the same weight. Prime Cro Cop would smash the shit out of Jones.

C. Better technical striker than Cro Cop?
In a Pride ring I would definitely pick Cro Cop to beat Jones.

I think it would be closer than people think. Nobody not named Alex Pereira has ever just beat the shit out him. Jon cant do what Alex does. Not even close. Jon looks human when fighters make it ugly. Im not saying its for sure but I think Jiri does make it a fight. Before the shoulder injuries and KOs, Jiri was something else.

IMO the UFC tried to keep something similar from happening by keeping Hendo away from Jones.
Jones would out-MMA Hendo almost everywhere. But that H-Bomb is an unpredictable x-factor that Hendo can land with either hand and from multiple ranges/angles, in the “ugly” moments of a fight, off a break, etc.

If Jiri ever fought Jones I would have been rooting for Jiri, I love the guy. I don’t think he wins unless it was one of Jones last fights at LHT
