Randleman vs Couture

I love Randleman’s mount escape attempt by sticking his legs straight up in the air lol.

What’s interesting is Steve Jennum is one of the first fighters to be somewhat decent on the ground and on the feet - he knew early on that if you were going to be good in this sort you had to know it all

Yeah I like Couture but damn he was involved in some very boring fights

He forgot that the open guard doesn’t work when you get mounted.

In how many other fights did someone get the takedown on Randleman? That might be a good trivia question.

lol

Nothing beats Ken’s helpful advice from cageside while Tito was bashing Bohlander’s head in

“You’re a warrior, Jerry!”

Did anyone else ever actually take Kevin down? He slipped off Waterman’s back and wound up on bottom but can’t think of anyone besides Couture taking him down. I dont think Sakuraba did.

Roger Gracie reversed a TD and kinda took him down briefly, ending up in front headlock top position IIRC

Front headlock? Thats not gonna work for me brother. Did Mike Whitehead or Nakamura take him down?

i remember kavin using his guard vs a judo dude in a blue gi in pride. might be nakamura

woops

Nice, Nak definitely took his ass down.

Yeah, much like Quinton had to knock him down to get on top.

Didn’t he box in the army though?

I think you’re right. Kerr also seemed to try to improve his all around skills but wasn’t as successful as Coture. Would have loved to see them fight.
