I just don’t see a path to victory for Arona. I think chimaev absolutely mauls him.

I think Aron’s is a tough fight for damn near anyone in history, but if I had to pick, I think Khamzat would out wrestle him.

I was on the pride bandwagon until all the pride stars got wrecked in UFC. How bad ass was nog in Japan? Then Frank Mir ripped his arm off in the octagon.

I don’t want to disparage Arona he is as an absolute beast. But he isn’t going to get chimaev in any position that chimaev unfamiliar with. And Arona wasn’t known for his gas tank. Chimaev smothers him for however many rounds the fight is and if chimaev decides to deliver viscous g&p there is nothing Arona is going to do to stop it.

A past his prime Fedor to boot. They both were shells at that point. Its not like Nog was peak when Mir beat him and the second fight was pretty darn competitive.
We don’t agree on LOG while our views on MMA often seem to align from what I’ve read of your posts over the years. Great point here.
