Who you got?
- Bowe
- Fury
Great match up, I lean towards the fury that beat wilder the second time vs bowe who beat evander the first fight
Peak in shape bowe was a problem
The Bowe that beat Holyfield was going to be an all time great. He had the size, excellent body puncher, top tier jab, great chin and answered the questions about his heart, plus he was guided by the greatest trainer in boxing history Eddie Futch..Bowe would have stopped Fury late after wearing him down with pressure, unlike most of Fury’s opponents Bowe would have cut the ring off
Fury is a lazy fatass and I can’t give him a vote.
Rodrick was lazy and almost lost to Gollata
Peak ability, I’m picking Bowe.
He had a short peak, but it was a high one.
He was elite in a more stacked era.
Also had a hell of a chin.
Yep, that was his problem… Dude had all the talent and skill in the world. He just didn’t have what it took to maintain the drive towards greatness once he won the title.
Very tough fight for both guys. Bowe was so good during his best he beat a peak Holyfield. He was a savage puncher, he could fight inside, had good boxing ability and was a good finisher. Fury had a great chin, excellent defense at all ranges. If you put a gun to my head I’d take the Fury who beat Wladmir.
Bowe is often misunderstood. He trained under Eddie Futch, the man who trained Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, Freddie Roach and many of Philadelphia’s toughest fighters. Bowe got lazy between fights and gained substantial amounts of weight and liked to drink a good deal. He was a big man who liked to revel in the spoils of success. But during camp trained extremely hard. In fact, after he was embarrassed by Golota, he definitely overtrained to the point he came into the ring physically exhausted. For as great as Futch was as a trainer, he definitely shortened many careers because his guys all participated in regular (constant) gym wars. His fighters generally had a short peak despite being some of the best in the world.
