Ronda Rousey Returning

  • Feb 24, 1905: Yamashita is invited to the White House for an exhibition match, Roosevelt makes some remarks on the difference between Judo and American style Wrestling, and the role of strength in combat:

Yesterday afternoon we had Professor Yamashita up here to wrestle with Grant. It was very interesting, but of course jiu jitsu end our wrestling are so far apart that it is difficult to make any comparison between them. wrestling is simply a sport with rules almost as conventional as those of tennis, while jiujitsu is really meant for practice in killing or disabling your adversary. In consequence, Grant did not know what to do except to put Yamashita on his back, and Yamashita was perfectly content to be on his back. Inside of a minute Yamashita had choked Grant and inside of two minutes more he got an elbow hold on him that would have enabled him to break his arm; so that there is no question but that he could have put Grant out. So far this made it evident that the jiu jitsu man could handle the ordinary wrestler. But Grant, in the actual wrestling and throwing was about as good as the Japanese, and he was so much stronger that he evidently hurt and wore out the Japanese. With a little practice in the art I am sure that one of our big wrestlers or boxers, simply because of his greatly superior strength, would be able to throw kill any of those Japanese, who though very good men for their inches and pounds are altogether too small to hold their own against big, powerful, quick men who are as well trained.

This photo of Honda with Judo Gene is actually one of the best photos I’ve seen of her. Way happier days for her back then.

Rousey vs. Harrison at White House UFC event would be ‘A very American massacre, the likes of which we haven’t seen since the days of Civil War.’

Anything is possible, but odds are Kayla rag dolls her in the 1st round.

Yeah I think you are correct

agreed

As I noted in my post above, this wouldn’t be the first time that frivolous spectacles were held at The White House.

I appreciate your attempt, never the less.

This would be beyond stupid.
If she were smart, she would head to Mexico and train with Alexa and her uncle.

Come on, everyone loves a massacre. Honda is the sacrificial lamb.

Wmma is just terrible. The very top of the the divisions are ok, but they are allowed to be on prime Victor levels of gear with impunity. Cyborg, Nunes, Kayla, Holly, the Chinese boy.

Women need so little drugs compared to guys to have a MASSIVE difference over other women, it’s easier to dodge drug testing.

Make no mistake, she’s not even close to natural, and neither was Rhonda and her GROSS ass traps and man attitude.

Ronda Rousey has had fans questioning whether or not a return to the octagon is in the cards, and if it is, it won’t be at the UFC White House card.

Following the birth of Rousey’s second child, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion has posted several photos and videos on social media training. Since then, Rousey hadn’t publicly confirmed or denied a UFC return, but in a recent interview, “Rowdy” isn’t slamming the door on a return to fighting, but it won’t be in front of President Donald Trump in June.

“I am not fighting at the White House,” Rousey said on The Lapsed Fan Podcast. “I mean, after Mike Tyson being the biggest fight of the year [vs. Jake Paul], you never say never [on a return].

“But I ain’t fighting on the f*cking White House.”

When asked why Rousey would say no if she was asked by UFC CEO Dana White, or the UFC brass, the massive superstar during the UFC’s rise kept it simple, and also, a bit light.

“I got better shit to do,” Ronda said. “My kid needs pasta.”

Rousey made her UFC debut at UFC 157 in February 2013, submitting Liz Carmouche in the main event to retain her title — which carried over after the UFC purchased Strikeforce. Rousey defended the title successfully five more times, but at UFC 193, she was stopped and dethroned by Holly Holm in a shocking upset in November 2015. Rousey returned to the octagon 13 months later to face then-champ Amanda Nunes in the main event of UFC 207, where Nunes destroyed Rousey in just 48 seconds for a massive victory.

That was the final time Rousey competed in MMA before trasitioning into the pro wrestling world. Rousey had a five-year run with WWE, and is the only woman in history to hold titles in both the UFC and WWE.

Ronda is just so unlikeable.
